FERAL TOGETHER

Elk are walking in the shopping corridors.
flamingos, congregating poolside.
Mother elephants where busy people used to crisscross.

A smiling man strolled in the very center of my street today—
inhabiting the space with his baby lookalike strapped to his back.
A family flocked right up the middle
free as birds.
A couple holding hands centered themselves and the cars slowed,
respectful of the reclamation
of life.

Everyone foraging for the happiness that was always right there to be had.
With unlimited stillness
we are all feral, finding home.
